The following immunizations and medications are required and/or recommended for travel to Uganda:

Immunizations

1. Malaria Tablets (required) - Your doctor can prescribe the required tablets. Be sure to tell you doctor your departure date and length of stay in Uganda.

2. Yellow Fever (strongly recommended) - A single dose confers immunity lasting 10 years or more..

3. Hepatitis A (strongly recommended) - Discuss with your doctor about receiving the first inoculation at least 4 weeks prior to your departure date. Your doctor will tell about follow up inoculations.

4. Typhoid Pills (recommended) - Your doctor can prescribe these

5. Tetanus (recommended) - Current within the last 10 years.

6. Hepatitis B (optional) - Ask your doctor about this immunization.

7. Flu shot (optional) - Current flu shot

Other Medications

8. All of your own doctor prescribed medications

9. Antibiotic (Ciprofloxacin) - doctor's prescription required

10. Mosquito repellent (recommended: Ultraton 2 - 3 tubes)

11. Over the counter medications:
a. Airborne
b. Acidophilus
c. Anti-diarrheal medication
d. Cold medication
e. Any others that you believe you may want/need
